Yumi as a character, first appeared in the immensely popular comic book series Shaurya,
as a female assassin, sent by the Brotherhood of Ahnirvan.

In Shaurya, we learn that the Brotherhood of Ahnirvan has created Yumi as genetically
engineered copy of the first female assassin Uma.
